Meet Emma (Owner)

Emdecon Inc. was founded with a clear purpose: to provide professional, respectful cleanup services during some of life’s most difficult situations.

After beginning my career in commercial cleaning in 2022, I saw firsthand how much the quality of a cleanup affects not just a space, but the people connected to it. Over time, my work evolved beyond routine cleaning and into specialized services where safety, discretion, and compassion truly matter.

Today, Emdecon focuses on trauma, hoarding, and biohazard remediation across Eastern Ontario. Every project is handled with strict attention to safety standards, clear communication, and deep respect for the individuals and families involved. Our goal is always the same: to restore spaces in a way that helps people move forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of situations do you handle?

Emdecon Inc. specializes in cleaning spaces impacted by a variety of situations, including homicides, suicides, accidents, unattended deaths (human body decomposition), and hoarding. We can help with situations requiring the cleanup of blood and bodily fluids.

Why is it important to hire professionals for crime and trauma scene cleanup?

There are many reasons why it’s important to hire professionals to clean up trauma and crime scenes. Cleaning up after these types of events is not only emotionally daunting for families and loved ones, but it also poses serious health risks. Blood and bodily fluids can carry pathogens that require special training, equipment and cleaning chemicals to remove.

Emdecon Inc. follows strict protocols to ensure that affected areas are thoroughly decontaminated to prevent exposure to harmful bacteria or viruses. We approach every situation with compassion and discretion.

How much do crime and trauma scene cleaning services usually cost?

The cost of crime and trauma scene cleaning will vary depending on the size of the area, the amount of contamination, and the specific services needed. Factors such as the type of biohazards involved and the time needed for proper cleaning will also affect pricing. The average price for this type of service ranges from $4,500 to $5,500, but can exceed $10,000 depending on the situation.

Who pays for these services?

In most cases, the property owner is responsible for covering the cost of crime and trauma scene cleaning in Ottawa. However, many homeowner and property insurance policies include coverage for situations that require biohazard remediation. We will work with you to determine if your insurance policy covers our services and assist in providing the necessary documentation for your claim.

How quickly can you help with trauma scene cleaning?

We offer a quick response time and aim to be on-site within 3 hours of your call or less

Are you certified?

Yes. We are IICRC-certified, fully insured and trained in WHMIS and BBP (Bloodborne Pathogens).

Do you work with homeowner/property insurance?

Yes, we work with your homeowner’s or property insurance if it covers situations that require biohazard remediation.

Please note that if insurance does not cover the entire expense, the remainder will still need to be paid to Emdecon Inc.
